NAMI Connection is a free 90 minute weekly (unless otherwise noted) confidential support group for individuals 18 years or older who live with mental illness, regardless of the illness(es). The support group provides a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope. Connection Peer groups also offer a casual and relaxed approach to sharing the challenges and successes of coping with mental illness. Participants can share as much or as little personal information as they wish and the group follows a flexible structure without an educational format. Participants should feel welcomed to drop by and share feelings, difficulties, or successes. Connection does not recommend or endorse any medications or other medical therapies. Meetings are guided by NAMI Connection’s Principles of Support and please note that student observation is not allowed.

Scheduled NAMI Connection Peer Support Groups have moved to an online format using the Zoom meeting platform – Please view Connections meetings on the NAMI SD Calendar page
