NAMI San Diego is digitally migrating the bulk of our support group calendar online as we move through April, week by week. We currently have at least 15 family support groups that will be available online, with Peer Connection support groups migrating next and education opportunities coming soon.

NAMI Friends,

You may have heard in recent news articles about concerns regarding the security of the ZOOM platform for meetings.

Please be assured that this is something that NAMI San Diego takes very seriously.

We NEVER record our meetings which would make us vulnerable to viewing on the cloud.

As a Host we are able to mute and remove any individual in the group who fails to comply with our NAMI Support Guidelines. Among the precautions that we take are the following:

  1. Only the Host can control chat access
  2. Only the Host can screen share
  3. If necessary, the Host can exclusively control the mute function
  4. The Host has the ability to remove an individual from the ZOOM meeting

If at any time you are uncomfortable during a ZOOM meeting you have the ability to turn off your camera, or leave the meeting.

You are NOT Alone.

We are thrilled to let you know that we will also be presenting weekly Education & Advocacy WELLNESS WEDNESDAY where subject matter experts bring personal experience and professional tools in order to create more wellness in your life. Through the ZOOM group sharing platform, hear a live presentation on mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual wellness each week. This free weekly series allows attendees to interact with presenters from 1 to 2pm.  Following each Wellness Wednesday presentation, from 2pm to 2:30pm, NAMI San Diego has brought back the ever popular ASK THE DOCTOR, now a virtual open Q&A time with University of California, San Diego psychiatrists from the Community Psychiatry Program

Our Family Support Groups and meetings are FREE for any (Adults 18 and older with a loved one of any age experiencing behavioral or mental health concerns), and there is no registration required for support groups.
