Annual Dinner Volunteer

Annual fall community building and fundraising event, volunteer support includes assisting with event set up, hosting, break down and clean up.


Education & Advocacy Volunteer (E&A)

Monthly education and advocacy oriented community meetings. Volunteer support includes set up, interacting with community members, breakdown and clean up.


Ending the Silence Volunteer (ETS)

A program designed to break stigma and increase awareness of mental health issues and resource on High School campuses. There is an interview and screening process for this role. Accepted individuals are trained in a special curriculum and present at local High Schools.


Friends in the Lobby Volunteer (FIL)

Be a friendly and supportive presence in the lobby of a local mental health hospital, providing families visiting loved ones with information on NAMI San Diego, support and hope. There is an interview and screening process for this role. Requires a six month commitment.


Helpline Volunteer (HL)

Join our community helpline, giving resources and support to family members and peers who call M-F between the hours of 10 and 4pm. This is not a crisis line. There is an interview and screening process for this role. Requires a six month commitment.


NAMI On Campus Volunteer

Support college students in developing a NAMI club on their college campus.


NAMI Walk Volunteer

Help with our largest annual outreach event, held each year in April/May. Volunteer work includes everything from set up, managing crowds, registration, connecting with community participants, outreach tables, volunteer care, break down, clean up.


Noble Works, Business Professional Mentor Volunteer (NW)

Become an inspiring mentor supporting an inexperienced employee by sharing knowledge and encouraging growth for sustainability and accountability in the workforce.


Office/Admin Volunteer

Help around the administrative office. Filing, data entry, organizing, phones. Helpful skills include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Typing and Telephone.


Outreach Events

Volunteer to “table” at Resource Fairs & Community Events.


Tech Café Class Assistant

American Sign Language and other languages are very helpful. Help hearing impaired and/or ESL family members and peers by providing language interpretation during computer classes.  Languages needed include American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic, Vietnamese and others.
